1998年是个值得记忆的年代，那一年，中国发生特大洪灾，全国人民在水深火热中意淫着智利的阿塔卡马沙漠的细沙；那一年，以美国为首的北约集团为了谋求欧亚大陆，悍然对主权国家南联盟发动代号为“联盟力量”的大规模战略空袭；那一年，金融市场波动令俄罗斯政府难以驾驭，叶利钦在莫斯科大雪纷飞的夜晚一支接着一支的抽烟。那一年，阿富汗发生强烈地震，萨达姆认为这是比美国入侵更糟糕的事情；关键的是，那一年那个带红领巾的少年以无比焦虑的心态观看了他人生中的第一部毛片，在那个炎热的夏天。
那个时代的少先队员，总是在抵触的情绪中生活着，一半冰山，一半火焰。所有青春尖锐的记忆、飞溅的碎片如今看来都有了厚重的质感，而不再是今日舆论的庞杂，人心的空灵。当时的男女生关系相对比较纯洁，正在接受九年义务教育的学生们并没有把科学转化为生产力的企图或实践，即使看部毛片，也像是小偷般提心吊胆。那个夏天某日的下午十分燥热，再加上地下放映厅里潮湿的气息以及内心的好奇与紧张，少年像是陷入了一个无比巨大的空洞。那时小城市还没有流行光盘，是普通的录像带，穿着花纹衬衣的录像厅老板坐在门口幕布的后面，对未成年的孩子的出入似乎司空见惯。彩色电视机上银屏雪花纷飞，画面极其模糊，每个人都目不转睛的紧盯着，生怕错过了什么片段而遗憾。录像厅里遍布着各色人物，民工、社会残渣、带着眼镜的大叔、以及像他一样逃课在外的少年。每一个新的动作都会让他们心里激起一番澎湃，即使女主角屁股上长了一个很明显的痔疮他们也不会抱怨。
少年走出了录像厅，像偷了东西一样躲避着每一个人的目光，生怕被人看见他去了哪里，又从哪里出来。在那一天过后，他心里生起了一团火焰，以后的日子里，他以不同的方式看了来自不同地域的淫秽产物，直到他经历了中学、大学、后来参加工作。但是他再也没有像那天那样，为即将看到的画面那样兴奋过。毛片在他个人历史的发展进程中始终在阴暗面影响着他的人生观。在毛片中，他看到了西方人的威猛与不羁、大和民族做事的一丝不苟、以及国人的避讳与隐忍。逐渐的，他看毛片开始挑剔，开始选择性的观看。他认为这是思想的升华，像一场视觉艺术，玩弄与互动，动作与声音都触动着他的感官，直至创造。毛片提升他隐藏在内心精神价值的信仰，而且他很愿意把看毛片当做他终生的修行。
只是，他还是愿意像少年时那样，把红领巾塞进裤袋，提心吊胆的去看。也许是因为新鲜，也许是因为追忆，也许是为了寻找懂得之前那个盲目的体验。
